Why I became a Coach: My Journey to Empowering Others

If you’d told me years ago that I’d become a certified health and wellness coach—holding space for others to rediscover themselves, reconnect with who they are, and create lives that truly feel like their own, I probably would have smiled politely, but I wouldn’t have believed you.

Back then, my life looked “fine” from the outside. I was doing all the things I thought I was supposed to, working hard, caring for others, keeping everything afloat. But inside? I was running on empty. I had no time for myself, no space to breathe. I felt disconnected from my body, my joy, and my sense of direction.

Something had to change. I just didn’t know what.

All I knew was that somewhere along the way, I had lost the real me.

The Turning Point

There wasn’t one big “aha” moment, more like a series of gentle nudges, a quiet inner voice whispering:

“There has to be more than this.”

“I am worthy of a life I want to live.”

I started exploring health and wellbeing, not just food and exercise, but the deeper layers:

how we think, how we feel, how we speak to ourselves, and what we believe we deserve.

Small changes came first:

● More rest. Less guilt.

● More nourishment. Less self-neglect.

I stopped living on autopilot and began asking: “What do I need? What do I want? Who am I becoming?”

Working with an incredible Master Life Coach was a turning point. The questions she asked challenged me to reflect deeply on my choices, beliefs, and habits. I began to believe in myself again, who I was and who I could be. That work gave me the space to grow, learn, and rediscover my own sense of purpose.

Slowly, the shift began.

Why Coaching?

Through my own transformation, I realised I wanted to help others experience the same kind of clarity and empowerment. Coaching felt like the natural next step, a way to honour what I had learned while supporting others to make changes on their own terms.

I trained in life coaching, and later expanded into health and mental wellness coaching. I quickly became passionate about the process: asking powerful questions, listening without judgment, and walking alongside people as they reconnect with their own wisdom and strength.

I didn’t want to tell people what to do. I wanted to help them remember who they are.

The Heart of My Work

At Kylee Long Coaching, I don’t believe in quick fixes or chasing perfection. I believe in:

● Progress over pressure

● Self-kindness and self-appreciation

● Real, lasting change that starts from the inside out

I work with people who are ready for something more, those who are tired of feeling stuck,

burnt out, or lost in the chaos of life. Together, we pause. We breathe. We reflect. And we move forward with clarity and confidence.

Because you can live a life that feels aligned and nourishing.

You can reconnect with yourself.

You can create a life you don’t want to escape from.

I know this, because I’ve done it. And now it’s my privilege to walk alongside others as they do the same.

If my story resonates with you or you’re curious about what coaching could look like for you, I’d love to connect.
